Wound Composite Modeler Plugin
If you have worked in the field of design and analysis of composite pressure vessels before, you know how complex this job is. The Wound Composite Modeler Plugin is used for the design and analysis of composite pressure vessels and was developed to facilitate the modeling and analysis of composite vessels. User-friendly graphical interface with unique features that minimize the need for scripting and coding. This plugin manual has 5 great workshops and you can model a composite pressure vessel in the fastest possible time.
Features/Technology
- Abaqus/CAE customization capabilities, such as custom output processing, and the ability to access and modify model and output databases through scripting
- Abaqus/CAE modeling capabilities, including automatic surface-based tie constraints between parts, control of mesh quality through partitioning, and geometry import
- Analysis capabilities such as user subroutine UVARM to calculate local wind angle and fiber strain output for each element, the inclusion of nonlinear geometric effects, orthotropic and hyperelastic material models, and the ability to model permanent yielding of the liner (autofrettage)
- Dome and Cylinder Geometry Definition
- Geodesic
- Elliptical
- Spherical
- User-Defined (point-by-point)
- From a mesh of existing Part-Instance
- Winding Layout Specification
- Mesh and Section Creation
- Micromechanics Module
- Using lamina microstructure instead of Rule-of-mixtures formulae in calculating the anisotropic ply properties

Installing The WCM Plugin
Extract the contents of the zip folder into a subdirectory of the abaqus_plugins folder, which can either be located in the
- abaqus_dir\code\python\lib\abaqus_plugins where abaqus_dir is the Abaqus parent directory or,
- home directory (in which case the plugin will be available whenever Abaqus is run) or,
- within the current working directory of your Abaqus/CAE session.
Compatibility
The Abaqus WCM plugin is designed to be compatible with Abaqus/CAE 6.14 and later.

This is a practical plugin. If it doesn’t start correctly, try setting the system time to a date after 2015 and attempt again. Workshops and the User’s manual will be sent to the email along with the WCM plugin itself after purchase. Following the instructions in the documentation should ensure smooth operation. In the WCM folder, you can find the complete workshops in the “docs” folder. The required example project files are available in the “examples” folder. Hope you enjoy using it!
